How to Make A Pureology Purify Shampoo: Part 2
How to make a pureology shampoo?
You will need: (2) 2-3″ wide, wide mouth mitts, and a 3″ x 3″ bowl (3) 3/4″ thick silicone tubing (1) 4″ wide stainless steel wire (1, or you can just use 1-1/2″ diameter stainless steel tubing).
(1.5) 1/2-3/4 cups (1 cup for each of the 2-1-1 cups in the above picture) (2-2.5 oz.) water (1 quart) soap, or any of the ingredients listed above, plus a small amount of a salt or vinegar solution (optional).
The following step-by-step instructions will help you make a soap-free shampoo.1.
Cut the silicone tubing to the desired length.
It will be roughly the same size as the water and tubing you will be using to make the soap.
(Note: If you are using the same plastic tubing that was used to make your water-free hair wash, you can cut that out as well.
It’s a good idea to leave about 1/4 of the tubing on the end of the hose so that you don’t end up with a whole bunch of tubes.
You can then simply drill the holes for the soap with a small drill bit and insert it into the tubing to make sure the soap doesn’t leak out.)2.
Take the water- and tubing-separated water and pour it into a clean water-proof container.
(It’s important to do this before you start mixing the soap.)
(Optional: you can also use a spray bottle or something like a hose clamp to separate the water from the soap, but you’ll have to do that separately.)3.
Take the tube with the water in it and add the soap ingredients to the tube.
(Use the same hose clamp or spray bottle to separate out the water.)4.
Put the tube into the bathtub with the soap mixture in it.
If you’re using a silicone tubing, you may want to use a small tube for the tubing, or use a smaller tube for a larger tube.
(Note to self: do you know how to cut a small PVC pipe?
It’s the best way to get around the tubing!)5.
After all the soap is mixed, remove the tubing and place it in the sink.
The soap will be on the bottom of the tub.6.
Rinse the shampoo off the tubing.7.
After the shampoo is off, you will need to pour the soap into a large bowl.
(You can use a 1-cup measuring cup or a smaller one.)
You can pour this in the same way you would pour any other soap into your soap bar.8.
When you’re done with the shampoo, pour it back into the water.9.
This will take a while.
I think I need to do a second bathtub.
But, it’ll probably take about 5 minutes.10.
I can’t wait.
